Mr. Potato Head

I made this for my little buddy for our upcoming trip. I like it but I will do things a little differently next time. I put the rough part of the velcro on each of the removable pieces, but I would change that next time. Now all the pieces stick together and I don't like that. Next time...

Keychains!

I had a lot of fun making these keychains. And I hope to make more!

Other things that are occupying my time are making some traveling activities for when my little buddy and I travel to his grandparents next month. I'm working on a felt Mr. Potato Head, some magnet board activities, and maybe a backpack. Stay tuned for more.

Car Cozy!

Now my little buddy can play with his cars on the go! We can take it to church or to restaurants and many other places.

Here is the car cozy I made recently. I made three of them: one for my son, one for his best buddy's second birthday, and one for someone else (shhh, its a secret!). The other two are very similar, a little different fabric. After I made them I had to go back and hand sew the numbers on because I guess I didn't do the double-sided fusible interfacing correctly. Maybe I'll figure it out for next time.

Blocks and Blankets

So I haven't posted anything here in quite some time, so I'll be playing catch up for a minute. Most of the things I have made recently have been items to post on our etsy site: www.etsy.com/OnceUponaChildhood

Someone came to our etsy shop and wanted a block and blanket made out of this super cute owl fabric. I was so excited when the fabric came in the mail and it turned out quite cute.I love this one. I bought the blue colored dot fabric to make my son a little blanket and I had some leftovers. I made a taggie blanket that matches this block.
This colorful set has a taggie block, taggie blanket, and 3 burp rags.
For this pink and brown set, I used two (and maybe part of one other one) fat quarters that I got on clearance at Walmart for $0.25 each! Wow! What a deal! This set has a taggie blanket, two burp rags, a bib, and a taggie ball.
Just enough fabric to make a taggie blanket:
Also, I'm hoping my next post will be about the car cozys I made for my son and a couple of them for his friends' birthdays coming up. Stay tuned!

Craft Organization

I've been wanting to organize my crafts for a while now. I got the idea from my sister. I gathered up formula cans and other containers, found some scrapbook paper I liked and used modge podge to make it look nice. I am excited to use these storage containers in my craft room that I'll get one day in the distant future.

A New Blanket

While I've been making some baby blanket sets, I have this soft and comfy fabric. Whenever it is out, Ryan grabs it and cuddles with it and takes it all over the house with him. So I decided he needed his own soft blanket. He has tons of blankets people made for him, but none with that really soft fabric. While I was at JoAnns yesterday, I picked up some cute flannel and soft minky fabric and made him is own blanket. I love the colors and want to make him a quilt for a twin size bed one day out of these colors.

Herd of Dinos

Some dinosaurs I made for a craft fair. I still need to put them on their little wooden things with wheels so they will be a pull toy.And an elephant. Its my first try on the elephant and I'll do some things differently next time.
